The SmartCore 9180 provides industry leading performance and content management capabilities for Smart 4G Packet Core. It employs a combination of processing elements and hardware engines carefully designed for specific tasks and intelligence needed at all levels of functionality.  Hundreds of these fully connected processing elements and hardware engines collaborating in an 9180, combined with highly distributed and modular software design, enable the massive processing and learning capabilities of the 9180.   

The 9180 is a 14 slot, carrier-grade platform that supports massive subscriber capacity in a single 13RU chassis. The fully redundant architecture includes hot swappable cards with stateful failover, N:M redundancy, hitless software upgrades, redundant fans, and redundant load-sharing power entry modules. Leveraging a unique distributed design, the 9180 allows service providers to deploy entry level solutions with minimal up front costs, while being able to scale the system to support the most demanding long term requirements.
