WiChorus Announces WiMAX Interoperability Testing
of its Intelligent ASN Gateway with
Telsima´s StarMAX 6400 Base Station

Testing Part of One Open WiMAX Initiative to Accelerate Multi Vendor Interoperability and Promote Open Standards across Mobile
WiMAX Ecosystem

Chicago, IL, September 26, 2007 – WiChorus, the developer of the industry’s most scalable, Intelligent Access Services Network (ASN) gateway today announced the successfully completed interoperability testing (IOT) between WiChorus’ Intelligent ASN gateway and Telsima’s StarMAX 6400 Base Station. WiChorus and Telsima demonstrated R6 interoperability based on the WiMAX Forum’s NWG 1.0.0 specification. The joint IOT testing demonstrates the availability of an open, flexible ecosystem of best-of-breed products for fixed and mobile WiMAX operators.

“We support all interoperability activities that help us to expand our technology capabilities and coexist with a broader mobile ecosystem,” said Burcak Beser, CTO of Telsima. “Working with partners like WiChorus serves to demonstrate that leading vendors are committed to creating a mobile WiMAX ecosystem based on open standards for the benefit of our customers and the growth and success of the WiMAX market.”

“Progressive WiMAX equipment companies are collaborating and have accelerated the interoperability of WiMAX infrastructure to fulfill the promise of an Open WiMAX and  move beyond the closed, proprietary systems of the past,” said Rehan Jalil, President and CEO of WiChorus. “Working with partners like Telsima, and developing this new, highly flexible ecosystem gives operators the mix-and-match choice they need to deploy successful, profitable WiMAX networks.”

The One Open WiMAX initiative is accelerating the availability of WiMAX Forum compliant infrastructure equipment and ensuring service providers have the option to combine best-of-breed equipment to build their networks. WiChorus is making the goal of an open ecosystem a reality through its participation in the WiMAX Forum and its industry-leading One Open WiMAX initiative. The goal of this vendor-neutral initiative is to ensure fully open WiMAX standards, including the adoption of a single open R6 interface, and demonstrate multi-vendor interoperability across the entire mobile ecosystem. To achieve this, WiChorus has invested significant R&D resources in providing test and simulation tools, an advanced test lab facility, and software components to assist vendors in delivering fully interoperable, open WiMAX solutions.
