"The promise of WiMAX and LTE is simple - mobile data that's cheaper and more akin to broadband than current 3G offers. In the wireless core, the implication is that new platforms will be required to handle all of this data while layering on intelligence to manage traffic, provide security functions, protect against peer-to-peer abuse, and more. WiChorus, with its purpose-built SmartCore platform, is the first vendor formed to specifically meet the needs of 4G networks and the operators launching them."
